YOUR AMERICAN HERITAGE MONUMENT

Located in the Atascadero Colony Square Project at the entrance to the Galaxy Theaters

Ownership vests with this chapter of the MOWW

The monument consists of a 40 foot flagpole with an large American flag (6' x 10') supported by a 6' concrete base which highlights four bronze plaques on the sides and lay the foundation for depicting the heritage of our country and to our nations' veterans from the time of George Washington.

All funding for the construction and maintenance of this project has been primarily from private donations and under the supervision of this chapter of the Military Order of the World Wars.

Location:  This monument will provide a patriotic anchor for the developing Colony Square, the site adjacent to the entry of the Galaxy Theatre was selected to take advantage of the large number of people (especially youth) passing by to maximize its' close up exposure.

The Base Plaque Designs:

The first plaque is the full text of the "The Declaration of Independence" as adopted July 4, 1776 in easy to read block lettering. A brief history of this document will provide a lead in to the actual text.

The second plaque -- The full text of the Preamble of the US Constitution followed by the Articles and select amendments with writeups to give the reader a flavor of what it contains.
